New 2023 Volvo XC90 Performance
The standard XC90 Core is equipped with a 48-volt electric motor and a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, producing a combined 247 horsepower. For 295 hp, choose the B6 powertrain, an option on the Plus and standard on the Ultimate trim.
The T8 plug-in-hybrid XC90 Recharge is the most efficient and powerful model of the bunch, with an EPA-estimated 66 MPGe, and 455 horsepower. No matter the XC90's trim level or engine choice, all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic are standard on all versions.
The Volvo XC90 has a noticeable lean in corners, but the steering is responsive, and the wheel has a nice middle-of-the-road weight that's neither too light nor too heavy. It can handle most road conditions well in Orchard Park, has an optional air suspension, and delivers a comfortable, insulated ride. The XC90 can tow up to 5,000 pounds, an impressive feat for a compact SUV.
